Last week was my first week back and the start of another transitional period. I have a good feeling about this transition. I know it'll be challenging, but I'm already loving that I get to spend my days with people again (sorry First Aid, but you weren't exactly good company). I'm also ready for a sense of normalcy and routine. Especially ready for a routine that involves more than study, sleep, repeat. I'm ready to get back in the game, but I'm also excited that I'll have time to do some of the little things that bring joy to my day. Cooking a new meal, taking a walk by the lake, going kayaking - all things I technically could have done while studying for the boards (I don't want to make it seem like you can't do anything fun for two months!) but which realistically took a backseat during my study time. I used to hate transitions because of all the awkward moments, uncertainty, and fear of failure, but I'm actually starting to enjoy a certain amount of change. In the past few years I've seen so much personal growth during seasons of change and I like the ways it's shaped me. Here's hoping that I'll grow throughout this next season and embrace the messy, awkward, and beautiful moments ahead.

ReplyDeleteThanks!! Yeah, it's so nice to be out there doing things - i've been jealous of all your hands on work this past year!

Thanks! I'm starting out in family medicine. It's a good environment to start out in - not super stressful and lots of one-on-one time with the doctor!
