Fourth year is known to be by far the best time to travel during medical school. After residency interviews are done the pace slows way down and most people have lots of time off in between any last rotations they're doing. It's so common that it's basically an icebreaker question at the residency pre-interview dinners - where are you traveling to before residency starts? We chose Croatia because it has a little bit of everything - beaches, waterfalls, parks, castles, ahem...wild horses, caves, hot springs and lots of history. Also, anyone watch Game of Thrones? Well Dubrovinik is the real life King's Landing. Needless to say, we're pretty excited to visit.
So now that our flights are booked, we'll be able to start putting the other details together! Zdravo Croatia!
