Reminiscing

Our first anniversary is quickly approaching, and a few nights ago Spencer and I spent some time reminiscing about our wedding and the days leading up to it. So many memories surround a wedding. As we talked, we found ourselves smiling as we remembered some of our favorite moments. I remember the first few notes of the bridal processional, listening to the carefully chosen words of Spencer's vow to me, I remember the happiness of a night spent laughing and dancing with each other and friends, and the tranquil boat ride across the lake, watching the silhouettes of our friends and family get smaller and smaller. We laughed as we remembered sitting on the kitchen floor at my parents, cutting flower stems and placing them into chilled vases. Or calling the florists and clarifying for the fourth time that we wanted white flowers in the bridal bouquet, not pink. Our wedding was most definitely a DIY wedding and since I'm an extremely detail-oriented person, I absolutely loved putting thought into each part of it. Planning a wedding that way can be very time-consuming, but the result is something truly and uniquely representative of your relationship.

Next week I'll be sharing my awesome wedding dress shopping experience. Hint, it doesn't involve buying from a wedding dress shop! In other news, my clinical competency exam is over and I'm three weeks away from being a second-year med student! It's crazy how time flies. I'm off to PA this weekend to celebrate one of my closest friend's wedding. Enjoy the rest of the week!
