Fall

When I think of fall I think of bright reds and golds, the smell of fallen leaves, pumpkins, pies and cider, long hikes, and family. Here are some snapshots from the past few weeks.

I'm so happy that I got time to decorate a bit this year - our pumpkins sitting pretty in our entryway, the wreath I made while watching Rosemary's Baby with Spencer, and the pumpkins I got at the farmer's market and added a touch of gold to.

Last weekend we had our annual family scavenger hunt which is my absolute favorite family event. One Saturday in October, all my family, including my aunts, uncles, and cousins, have a scavenger hunt around my hometown. One person comes up with a series of riddles, the answer to which is a location in our city. We divide into teams, are given a sheet of paper with the riddles on it, and pile into cars to retrieve tokens that have been left at each location. It's so much fun and especially now that all of us kids have grown up, it can get pretty competitive (i.e.. cutting other team's cars off and sprinting to retrieve tokens). Oh, and guess who won this year?

Hiking is one of my favorite things to do and this afternoon the weather was perfect so we checked out the most beautiful waterfall that's only a few miles away. Thankfully, the trees are still full of color, making for a gorgeous day. To top it off, we stopped at a truck that drives from Maine every Friday with fresh seafood. Lobster, it's what's for dinner! Enjoy this gorgeous weekend!
